Copying and pasting content into Drupal from external sources (AI, web pages, Word documents, etc.) often introduces hidden formatting and code. This can affect how your page displays and functions and can introduce hidden accessibility issues.
Best practices
- Whenever possible, type directly in Drupal or
- Paste content as plain text to prevent formatting issues
- Windows: Ctrl + Shift + V
- Mac: Cmd + Shift + V
- Or paste content into a plain text editor (e.g., Notepad or TextEdit), then copy and paste it into Drupal
Why is this important?
- Random code can interfere with site design and override standard styles
- Hidden markup may introduce accessibility issues not visible in the editor
- Extra code can interfere with responsive behavior across devices
- Cleaning up pasted code can take significant time and effort
